We don't just run together...we also bike together! I have to say I am a lot faster than him on the bike! I happen to think it is the pink wheels! :) |
I am lucky to be able to call my Dad more than just a Father.....He is my workout buddy but mostly he is my best friend. I have been in aww over my Dad since the day I enter this world. He always amazes me how much he loves his family and God. He worked many long hours providing for all 5 of us kids (7 days a week 12 hours shifts) but never failed to miss a basketball game or dance recital. He seriously could do it all and still can do it all in my eyes! He could make my tears turns into laughter and a broken heart into a heart of steel.
A family that runs together stays together! Dad showed me my love for running and I was able to pass it down to my cousin Diana :) I love my running family! |
I am lucky to have a special relationship with my Dad that my brothers and sisters don't have... we are endurance junkies together! We have had some serious talks out on the road either that be running or biking. We have struggled together, cheered each other on and have seen each other at our worst....but we have been there to watch each other accomplish things that most people only dream of! We like to compete in our races...pushing ourselves to the limit. It amazes me that my Dad is the one person I want to beat in races but the one person I want to cheer on the most!
First race I have ever beat Dad!!!! Loved every minute of it :) St. Pete's Half 2012 |
Dad...
You will always be the first man I feel in love with! You can do no wrong in my eyes. I hope that II have become the daughter that makes you proud!!! You really are my superhero, my best friend and the best man I have in my life! I know someday that might change but always remember that nothing will ever change the way I feel about you.
I am so glad and blessed that we have a life on the road together!!! I am so thankful to be able to have amazing memories of us at races... eating our carbs the night before, having the nerves the morning of and helping each other when the miles get tough. I am proud to be able to call you my Dad!
Thanks for always being there for us kids and Mom... thanks for working long hours so we could eat and have nice things. Thanks for showing me the importance of having a good college education and a life with God. Thanks for being my handy man, my therapist and mostly my Dad! Because of you I do believe that I can do anything and that risk are worth taking! I love you more than you will ever know! Hope you are catching a lot of fish up there in Canada and finding some happy miles on the roads! I MISS YOU!
Love You,
Katie
PS. I can't wait to beat your PR time!!!! :) Let's keep racing together!
